Leaf Books publishes seriously impressive short fiction, micro-fiction and poetry by new and established authors. We've published individual short stories and compilations of poetry and micro-fiction in both A6-sized formats, small enough to fit into a pocket, and conventional anthologies. Leaf Books is one of the world’s leading publishers of micro-fiction.
In barely two years we’ve put nigh on two-hundred authors and poets into print, many for the very first time. Our material is sourced via competitions and all entries are anonymous, ensuring that everyone gets an equal shot at the goal: we can’t be swayed a notably book-selling name. We’re inordinately proud to have given so many new writers that all-important first print credit that we hope is not only rewarding and talent-affirming in itself but can also serve as a valuable calling card to other publishers.
We strive, in addition, to be a nurturing sort of a publisher: as well as publication, we offer an online presence at our website for all our published authors and various writing services for all our hoping-to-be-published authors, including short-story critiques, an informative list of UK writers’ groups and Root Books, a service that offers a tailor-made route from first-draft manuscript to printed text.
Our books of short fiction and poetry contain accessible and endlessly varied reads and are ideal for arbitrary amusement on slow-running trains and in fiction-free corners of coffee shops.
