Write a Play in a Weekend – 15 th-17 th May, Ceridwen, Carmarthenshire
In this weekend course, you will write a short play for the stage. It won't be polished, it won't be perfect, and it probably won't even be what you set out to write. But you will take your protagonists on a journey; you will help them overcome obstacles; and by the end of Sunday they will have had their feathers sincerely ruffled and will go home with you feeling somehow better for it!

Fancy time away freeing up your creative juices with like-minded people? Want to pick up a pen, let your imagination wander, cast your words to the winds? Ever thought of treating yourself to a writing weekend?
Ceridwen is all about inspiration. Here you will enjoy fabulous food, cheerful companionship, spectacular scenery, and workshops that entertain, engage and exhilarate – giving you the space to create. Invention. Expression. Freedom.
Whether your interest is in poetry, prose or performance, each course will provide opportunities for you to explore or expand your writing skills. Liven up lines, pep up paragraphs, stanza and deliver. Take your pick from a variety of exercises, discussions, readings, individual tutorials, group sessions, games, walks… and other adventures to stretch both brain and body!
Both courses will be delivered by writers Marcus Moore and Sara-Jane Arbury, who work together as Spiel Unlimited. Marcus has written Call My Bluff scripts for the BBC, had poems published by Macmillan, and run countless workshops in schools, libraries and prisons. Sara-Jane directs the voices off programme for Cheltenham Literature Festival, has toured nationally as a performer in the Bloodaxe production of Staying Alive, and was recently Herefordshire’s first writer-in-residence.

Fancy time away enjoying the art of free speech? Do you want to give tongue to thought, to speak out and be heard? Ever considered treating yourself to a weekend of patter, chatter and the whole matter of taking the floor with your words?
Whether your interest is in performing, presenting or public speaking, the weekend will provide opportunities for you to develop your vocal repartee and listener rapport. Take your pick from a variety of exercises, discussions, readings, individual tutorials, group sessions, games, walks… and other adventures to stretch both mind and mouth.
The course will be delivered by Sara-Jane Arbury and Marcus Moore, who work together as Spiel Unlimited. Sara-Jane directs the voices off programme for Cheltenham Literature Festival, performs her own poetry in venues anywhere and everywhere, and recently acted in the national Bloodaxe touring production, Staying Alive. Marcus has directed many diverse theatre shows, contributes frequently to BBC radio and television, is in popular demand as a festival street performer, and runs countless drama workshops in schools, libraries and prisons.
