April will be The Leaf Writers’ Magazine’s birthday! We hope to have grown even further, reaching more and more emerging writers and creative folk across the UK and beyond.

So what’s in store for Issue 4? Alongside the hoard of regular goodies we’ll be looking at collaboration, and writing techniques. Interviews with author Phillip Gross and photographer Simon Denison will reveal the partnership of poem and picture in I Spy Pinhole Eye (Cinnamon, 2009), while friends and writers Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl will discuss the process of writing their novel Beautiful Darkness (Puffin, 2010) together. Tutor and author Myra Schneider will examine the beginnings in poetry, and our essential guide will be dedicated to Writing Handbooks, profiling the top titles to use as your creative writing bibles. Like last year we’ll also list the pick of the literary festivals, hot competitions and as ever showcase some exceptional new writing. That’s your taster – keep an eye on our various haunts online for further news.

There is a Free classifieds section as well as advertising opportunities so if you are running a festival, creative writing course, poetry club or project, send us 50 words or so to promote your literary endeavours. If you want a bigger advert then see the advertising rates.

The Leaf Writers’ Magazine is published 3 times per year – in April, August and December. It will be available to purchase from the Leaf website, selected bookshops and even in your local library. Why not encourage them to subscribe?

Regular features also include
